Globalwarming Awareness2007 - Atmosphere

Globalwarming Awareness2007 also causes the depletion of the ozone layer. So, what is ozone layer? Ozone layer is a part of Earth’s atmosphere which contains high concentrations of ozone. Although the concentration of ozone in the ozone layer is very small, it is vitally important to life because it absorbs biologically harmful ultraviolet radiation emitted from the sun. Ultraviolet radiation can be harmful to the skin and is the main cause of sunburn. Excessive exposure can also lead to such dangerous diseases as cancer.

Depletion of the ozone layer allows more of the ultraviolet radiation, particularly the more harmful wavelengths, to reach the surface, causing increased genetic damage to living organisms. So, the scientists are concerned about this phenomenon called ozone depletion. They are striving hard to find ways to reduce global warming. Till now, they are not quite successful. We need to approach this menace with due importance. We cannot just leave it to the scientists to take care of this issue. The fact is that global warming is a “global” issue effecting people from all over the world. So, the need of the hour is to unite the world in this fight against global warming.

General awareness among the masses should be created. Globalwarming Awareness2007 is directly related to pollution. So, the general public too should contribute to check pollution. The common man should know how global warming can affect the lives of their children and grand children. If we do not want our coming generations to suffer from terrible and unwanted diseases, the time is now to act. Yes, it is possible to minimize the impacts of this devil called global warming. Addressing climate change is no simple task. To protect ourselves, our economy, and our land from the adverse effects of climate change, we must dramatically reduce emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse effects. The main objective is to educate the key policy makers and the public about the causes and effects of climate and to devise ways to reduce the impacts of global warming.

The earth naturally traps just enough heat in the atmosphere to keep the temperature ideal for us to breathe clean air and clean water. The term is called as global warming because the carbon dioxide stays in the atmosphere and acts like a warm blanket and hold in the heat. Globalwarming Awareness2007 is causing environmental destruction, health risks, and catastrophic weather. Global warming is changing the climatic patterns the world over. Climatic changes are not advisable because it upsets the balance of the ecosystem. Nature has its own way of balancing things. Globalwarming Awareness2007 has come in the way of nature and upsetting the environment everywhere. The glaciers are melting faster. Scientists have determined that the ice in Greenland and the Arctic is melting so rapidly that much of it could be gone by the end of the century. The results could be catastrophic for polar 3people and animals. The melting of such a nature in the Arctic can cause serious floods in the low-lying areas of Florida and Louisiana in the USA. The health and food security of some indigenous population would be threatened and may challenge the survival of some cultures.

Melting of ice in these regions due to global warming can also cause the extinction of some species of seals and polar bears. Melting of such a huge amount of ice will add so much fresh water into the ocean that it will impact the circulation of currents and affect regional climate. The Arctic is considered the air conditioner for the world. So, day by day, due to global warming we are having a less efficient air conditioner! The Arctic is experiencing some of the most rapid severe climate changes on the earth. The impacts of climate change in the region in particular and the entire world in general is poised to increase substantially over the next few years. We can save the world only if we can protect the Arctic. The climatic change in the Arctic region cause sweeping changes across the world. When we still have the time, we should act proactively so that we are able to slow the pace of climate changes in the Arctic region.

The society as a whole should design actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. We have to concentrate on minimizing the human activities that increase the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. This is important because this is something which is in our controls. We cannot control the emission of natural greenhouse gases. But we can definitely check the emission of the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere due to human activities.
